MANO Stories Style of success: Antonio Barbero

Where does style come from? Why do most successful men often develop their own? Can you learn to have style and develop one of your own?
In this series of exclusive interviews for MANO, we try to uncover the secrets and vision of successful personalities who have made style their own trademark.

Today we have with us Antonio Barbero, Chief Digital Officer, who has made corporate innovation his own mission.

Hi Antonio, let's start by telling our readers something about you and your entrepreneurial story.

Hello to all our readers, and thank you for the interview!
I would start by saying that I have a background in the world of Communications, and for about a year my focus has shifted toward web marketing.
With my team we approach the frontiers of digital, trying to bring innovation for a bright future in the global market

What does having style mean to you?

A person with style stands out from others, while always remaining true to themselves.
It is a person who has their own originality but does not necessarily need to show it off.

One's own style is a way of being, not an influence acquired from outside.

It is an intrinsic trait, it's just a matter of finding your own

What are the ways, not necessarily related to fashion or accessories, in which you express the fact of being a man of style?

Attitudes, the quality of one's conversation, the way of relating to others, and one's gaze.

But also the ability to be comfortable both in bermuda shorts on a boat and in a tuxedo at an art opening
.

Globalization tends to standardize production and make it efficient in commercial processes as well, leaving less room for small production businesses.
In light of this statement, how much value do you place on Italian craftsmanship?

The pleasure of buying a handcrafted product is unique.
The feeling that behind a product there is an artisan who is not only a skilled worker but who, even before that, was able to grasp a need and, thanks to their own skill, turned it from an idea into a tangible object.

What are the 3 things you like most about Italian craftsmanship, and how do you think the "new class" of Italian artisans should move today, from a commercial standpoint?

Tailoring, car manufacturers, food.
The big contradiction in commercial terms is that Italy is often a center of innovation, of lateral thinking that generates trends.

Unfortunately, artisans are often rooted in a commercial model that is now outdated. Startups generate profits thanks to digital, and this is a reality that can no longer be underestimated
.

Your professional background is that of someone who has moved with autonomy and independence. If you had one piece of advice to give young people entering the working world, what would you suggest to them?

To be versatile, to know how to seize opportunities and to have every possible experience; everything you learn in life is a card to play.

But also to cultivate resilience: the service or product resulting from your own commitment may not be fully understood by a potential audience, but those who endure win in the end!
